2018 EPA-Approved Asbestos Refresher Courses

Asbestos refresher courses are for individuals who wish to satisfy their annual training requirements for maintaining their existing asbestos-related certifications and licenses.  Topics covered in refresher courses include regulatory reviews, new legislation, safety, state-of-the-art procedures, and topics from the initial asbestos courses.  To be eligible for a refresher course, you must currently possess an EPA approved accreditation certificate (initial training or refresher training) whose expiration date is no more than one year prior to the course date.

The Volz Environmental Services Training Center is located approximately 12 miles northeast of downtown Pittsburgh, near the intersection of PA routes 28 and 910 on Gulf Lab Road, and approximately one-half mile from exit 48 (Allegheny Valley) of the PA Turnpike.

One -day classes start at 8:15 a.m., and conclude at 4:15 p.m. Half-day Building Inspector classes start at 8:15 a.m., and half-day Management Planner classes start at 1:00 p.m.

Course fees include classroom materials, equipment for ‘hands-on’ exercises, and refreshments during break periods.

Full payment, purchase order, or written agreement required prior to issuance of certificate. Course fees will be forfeited if cancellation is not received within 48 hours of course.  Courses are subject to cancellation by Volz for insufficient enrollment, inclement weather, or any other reason.

Existing certificate must be supplied to prove eligibility for a refresher course if the certificate you currently hold was not issued by Volz Environmental Services.  If the expiration date of your existing certificate is more than one year prior of the refresher course date, you are not eligible to take a refresher course, and you must attend an ‘initial course’ to regain your certification.
